A Place of Wonder

Our thoughtfully curated classrooms are built around Learning Centers that explore specific subjects and encourage children’s engagement with independent and group activities.

Discovery and exploration define the entire Pathways learning environment. Children are welcomed and encouraged to follow their curiosity wherever it leads and to engage in play with their friends. Learning and skill development occur naturally along the way.

Communication Center

Language development is rapid and dramatic in early childhood. A print-rich learning environment goes a long way to encourage children. In this center, they explore books, storytelling, conversation, and early writing with a variety of mark-making materials.

Creation Center

Here you’ll find young maestros at work! Children learn to develop their self-expression utilizing a variety of creative materials including paint, crayons, markers, paper, clay, and more. They give visual representation to their thinking as they let their imagination soar.

Discovery Center

Math is an integral part of early learning, though it goes well beyond identifying and counting numbers. Experiences with patterns, shapes, sorting, and sequencing of the objects at hand build problem-solving skills and lay a strong foundation for complex mathematical thinking that will come be explored in the future.

Imagination is celebrated as an essential part of early childhood development. When children are free to pretend and explore, they stretch their thinking, practice important social skills, and develop problem-solving abilities. Mindfulness and emotional well-being support a positive learning experience. That’s why children are given the opportunity to rest, recharge, and refocus in a quiet space. In these reflective moments, children begin to explore and understand their feelings and emotions.

Curiosity comes to play as children seek new information, learn about scientific processes, and explore hands-on experiences. It’s time for them to experiment, raise questions, and test out their ideas. What new discovery will this investigation lead to?

Natural Learning

Wonder and discovery don’t end at the classroom door. Stepping outside into nature offers children even more opportunities for wonder and discovery and skill development.

Infant Learning Centers

Cozy Area: Children have a safe, quiet place to relax, read books, have conversations, and snuggle together.

Personal Care Area: Care routines allow teachers to engage in conversations and relationship-building with children. Children bond with Primary Care Teachers who provide focused attention.

Exploration Area: Children experiment with new ways of doing things to learn about the world around them. Children manipulate and interact with materials to explore how things fit, move, and balance.

Movement Area: Children can explore by stretching, reaching, crawling, and walking, to develop motor skills, balance, and coordination.
